For probably the first time I paid attention to the statusbar!
1) The icons have no tooltips so without clicking them the user has no idea what they are there for. It's difficult to remember which filter options you might have selected and the icons by themselves don't seem descriptive enough to me.
2) In the screenshot above I have a Preset called "Serialize" loaded. It would be nice if there was an indication via a tooltip that what's listed there is the "Currently loaded preset", for those users who might be mystified on seeing the text. In addition if the preset is modified (indicated by the *), the tooltip could state "Currently loaded preset (modified)" instead.

Icons in the status bar are linked to options used in the filter settings. Try changing filter options and you will see that icons will change accordingly.
Status bar hints have been added in v6.0.0.3 Alpha. I think they are very useful.

I know that, but like I said "It's difficult to remember which filter options you might have selected and the icons by themselves don't seem descriptive enough to me."
The new tooltips are quite useful (especially for the loaded/modified preset), but instead of the tooltip for the entire left block just saying "Active filter settings", couldn't each icon have a separate tooltip to make it clear what it stands for?
