Better control's resizing

Actually the listviews has a problem that I've encountered that will keep a bad size after resizing.

Steps to reproduce the error:

1. Open Renamer in normal view window.
2. Maximize the rename window.
3. Resize the upper listview to the bottom.
4. Return to normal view.

At this point, the program will look like this, hiding the second listview and unable to use it:

Temporal solution:
Maximize again the renamer window to revert the first listview size to normal.

There is one more problem.

The enduser can pick a border to resize the Form like this:

Or like this else:

I think that is very inconsistent and the main Form should have a "MinSize" property set to be able to see at least all the main buttons and both listviews.

Thanks for read!

Re: Better control's resizing

I don't think this is a problem which needs to be addressed. Also, minimizing main interface to the smallest possible size is sometimes useful if you want to create a temporary drop zone for files with minimal use of screen space.

There is a point beyond which safeguarding is simply no longer a viable option.

P.S. Should we ban the use of rope so people can't hang themselves? wink

I understand and respect your point of view and your decission about the size issue, but what happens about the main problem (the listview that becomes hidden when resizing both the listview and the Form) ?
Maybe I've misinterpret your words and you will mean that the main problem also does not need to be addressed? Could you clarify that?

Thanks for support here!

Re: Better control's resizing

Some time ago I thought about reporting this issue, but I got used to having renamer always maximized.

Anyway, back in the day I thought it might be useful if the mid bar metric would be stored as a percentage of the height in the window. I don't know about the pros or cons, it's just an idea.

Re: Better control's resizing

I think all resizing aspects are fine as they are now. The more we mess with autosizing the more problems we will eventually uncover (create).

P.S. If you ever get stuck with rules list occupying the whole screen, then disable the option to remember location and restart ReNamer. You'll get it reset.
