Filter to exclude certain extensions when drag a folder

I would like to exclude certain files when dragging folders.

For example, I download many music albums at a day, these albums should contain mp3 files together with m3u, nfo, jpg, sfv files, would be great if when adding a folder to the program it only takes the mp3 files (by previouslly setting a filter with unwanted file-extensions, of course).

Please, consider this suggestion. smile

Thanks for read.

Hi Elektro,

Please check if that will work for you >>> http://www.den4b.com/wiki/ReNamer:Menus … lters_menu

Masks
All added files (or folders as files) must match specified mask(s).
For example, if you enter *.jpg;*.gif;*.png as masks,
ReNamer will add only files with these extensions.
Everything else will be filtered out(not added to ReNamer).

Re: Filter to exclude certain extensions when drag a folder

( oops, I totally forgot this post, sorry )

Thanks for answer, but that is not what I was really looking for, the reason is simple, that is an 'include-filter' wich has it's disadvantages like for example the need to set everytime the proper extensions to include, then I would like to see separately an 'exclude-filter', also I think that an 'include-filter' and an 'exclude-filter' could live together in harmony inside the program, I really think that at the moment that the 'include-filter' was implemented an 'exclude-filter' should have been added as well for flexibility reasons or just to implement the opposite thing.

What thing the developer about this suggestion?

Thanks for read!

EDIT: I would like to expand my suggestion about its beneffits:

Normaly the enduser should use the program to rename all kind of files and folders, then in that case, a filter to exclude extensions will be very more comfortable, easier, and time-saver to use than the already implemented filter to include extensions...

...But why?, 'cause it's not the same to set the 'include-filter' to include only MP3/WAV/MP4/WMA/DTS/ETC... files when you drag&drop a folder that contains music and other unwanted files, rename them, and then drag&drop another folder that contains image files and reset again the filter to include only JPG/JPEG/BMP/PNG/ETC... ...and do this everytime that you want to "exclude" unwanted files.

So with an 'exclude-filter' in cases like this, I, the user, should save a lot of time writting very less, writting just the unwanted files, this means only the non-audio and non-image extensions that typically a folder can contains and keep that filter forever without the need of re-filtering again when you drag&drop more folders that contains other kind of files...

Could exists a lot more of consistent reasons...

Re: Filter to exclude certain extensions when drag a folder

It is an interesting suggestion, but having several different filter masks may confuse casual user. I will not discard it completely, this feature is noted for future consideration.

In the meantime, you can use files table context menu options to quickly remove specific file masks/extensions from the table.
