Old subject: moving files for renaming
Hi, I hope someone can throw a little light on a small problem.
I use this great programme for changing batches of file names and have been using it successfully for ages but due to a computer crash in 2012 I had to reinstall it and set it up again which I managed to do after a bit of tunkering, it working fine but for one small niggle I cannot work out.
For example my camera names files dscn001, dscn002, dscn003, dscn0004 and so on but when I open the programme then clcik add files,
the last numbered file appears at the top of the list, I know I can manually move it to the bottom or uncheck it so it does not get named
then name it at the end but why is the last numbered file appearing at the top of the list, it never used to.
Many thanks in anticipation. LB

Hi LB, welcome!
making a long prosa a short question:
my camera names files dscn001, dscn002, dscn003, dscn0004 and so on
but when I open the program then click add files, the last numbered file appears at the top of the list,
why is the last numbered file appearing at the top of the list,
That's windowsTM default behavior how to order the files for the command line.
(The last one clicked will be the first one on command line, the rest are following in order)
To preserve the order as seen in explorer you can try to use Ctrl+A to select the files,
or, if you just want to have a few and not all, select from the last wanted to the top.
You can also use drag&drop as Denis has explained e.g. there >> http://www.den4b.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=661#p661
(just search the forum for 'drag' or like this.)

Just for the reference there is a wiki article about it:
