When a rule is added to a Preset, it is not blank.

Sometimes we need to load a preset and then add extra rules to ReNamer to achieve the desired result.

ReNamer has a bug: If a Preset already contains a rule, and if you add another instance of that rule, ReNamer shows a copy of the rule that exists in the preset, with data already entered in it. (It is not a fresh copy.)

So first of all I have to remove the data and then enter new data.

Desired: ReNamer should provide a fresh (blank) copy of the rule.

I don't know if I'm understanding you. I think what you call a bug is the procedure of the option "save rule configuration on exit".

If I'm getting it right, what you are asking for is that it saves on each rule change, instead of exit.

What I think it would be a good idea good point mostly because of crashes, specially caused when a script goes wrong.

Re: When a rule is added to a Preset, it is not blank.

No in the simplest experiment, start ReNamer with no rule. Now add a preset.
Let us assume this preset has a "Remove" rule with some strings.

Now add one more "Remove" rule.
The problem is that this NEW rule also inherits all the strings that are there in the "Remove" rule that is part of the preset.
The new "remove" field should be blank: There should be no strings in it.

oh, ok.

That has something to do with a request to load the selected filename as default to be easier to remove things. It is somwhere in the forum but I don't remember it well and don't find it now.

Re: When a rule is added to a Preset, it is not blank.

Since files and rules are unrelated, this should be treated as a bug.
