I have 1500 JPGs with camera names like FMT45789.jpg
The numbers and letters are of NO importance to me.
I want new files name using EXIF date and time stamp and maybe a word too
Like:
2010-07-31 0945pm Vacation Columbia SC.jpg
or
2010-08-22 1145am Vacation Myrtle Beach.jpg
Can you help me? I know this is easy but I can't seem to get it right,

EDIT: Updated subject line.

Maybe something like this:
1) Delete rule - Delete from Position 1 until the End (skip extension)
2) Insert rule - Insert ":EXIF_Date: " as Prefix (skip extension) [there's a space at the end!]
3) UserInput rule - Add filenames like "Vacation Columbia SC", "Vacation Myrtle Beach" etc. on separate lines (or you can load an entire list from a text file), select the "Insert after the current name" option and also skip extension

Hi DavidRoper, welcome.
Please take care to find an meaningful, suggestive subject for your post.
To take "Help A newbie" as line for the subject in an help forum is not very clever chosen.
Maybe more something like "Rename with EXIF date and time stamp" ?

you are correct. I'm sorry for the way I posted. I won't do it again.

Fine. I don't know technically, but maybe you can modify your first post and change the subject.
And... have you seen Andrews post?
