Before anyone jump at me, i've read the wiki.
here is my test folder tree : d:\très\trés\trâs
I want it to look like : d:\tres\tres\tras
so i replace é with e, etc.
on the preview, it shows correctly.
when I click go,
only the last subfolder is renamed to tras, the rest shows a X mark, unable to rename.
I sorted by folders, ect. Tried multiple things. Nothing.
please help

Hi welcome.
Have you sort Folder/Path column in reverse order?
Like described e.g. there > http://www.den4b.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=3937#p3937

If you did it is very strange that it's not working.
I took a look here http://www.den4b.com/wiki/ReNamer:Failed_renaming
And I'm thinking, could it be that those folder already exist? (Maybe created by ReNamer when it failed, before sorting in reverse)

I refreshed, there are no duplicate folders without the accents

Maybe you have in the background an folder open in WinEx or an other filemanager.
Or you have an file open from one of this folders?
Are your test folder like in your starting post, as tree/sub-folders?
Or are they side-by-side on the same level?
I can't see what is wrong, it works fine for me:
XP SP3 , Beta 50

It works on your side.
it's exactly like that, and the sorting is correct.
I have my explorer open and that's it.

ok, I figured it out.
If I have text files of the same name as the folder. It doesn't work.
The folders renaming work if they are empty.
