To show link to each type of action, use a different icon

Shutter creates links for different types of actions. However, it uses the same icon for all actions, which looks like a shut-down button.

Instead, each action should have an icon that represents its function.

e.g. Alarm -> Alarm clock
Lock workstation -> Lock
Sleep -> Zz

Users can contribute the icons.

Yes, it is possible, but it is very hard to find a collection of free and quality icons to fit all actions and more less in the same style...

I Googled for "Tango icons download" and got a lot of good quality sets.

If you have any specific requirements, please share them here:
size (16x16, etc)
color palette (if any)
background color (e.g. purple/cyan)

Probably I will be able to whip up a few icons with InkScape.
In fact, I can send you SVG files, and you can scale them to your liking.

I am aware of Tango icons, but they don't have all of the necessary icons. There is also another problem, there is a great chance that list of possible actions and events will be extended. Then it will be a trouble of finding an appropriate icon once again, which will basically delay the release even more.

Anyway, icons will have to be created in all combinations of the following formats:
* Sizes 16x16, 32x32, 48x48
* Colors 16, 256, RGB/A

Preferably packed into ICO format. Background color will not matter as ICO format has transparent background.

Denis, I have sent a sample icon (made to Tango specs) a few days ago.

I have not got a response- Probably your spam filter caught it??

I did not add shades and gloss because the Tango guidelines itself if made too large. they can obscure the features of the icon. However, if you prefer those, I can add them even in 16x16.

If you need larger icon sizes, I will make them with gloss (reflection), perspective and shadow.
