Sutdown when no more DC power to notebook

Hi there, I'm looking for a utility that will do an automatic shutdown of notebook in vehicle when there is no more DC power.

So driver turns off ignition, DC power will be cut to notebook, therefore trigger a shutdown.  Today we can make it go in Hibernate mode, which is not good enough for us.

Can you tell us how you can detect if DC power is cut off and trigger hibernation? If we know this, maybe we can suggest how you can shutdown instead.
