More EXIF information

Hi,

This is a great program.  Have you considered adding support for full digital photo EXIF information (and maybe DNG image format support)?  There aren't very many re-namers that support full EXIF info and I've never seen any that support DNG.  This would make Renamer much more useful for photographers.

Thanks.

Re: More EXIF information

Thanks, LibertyToad smile

Regarding your question... What do you mean by "adding support for full digital photo EXIF" ? ReNamer already has support for EXIF in JPEG and some TIFF tags, through so called "meta tags" which can be accessed via Insert rule. To retrieve these tags, I use 3-rd party libraries, which are limited in terms of functionality. DNG's are in the same boat - I can add support for them, if only I can find some open-source libraries for Delphi, which I couldn't find by this day.

Nevertheless, you might be able to incorporate into ReNamer some other tools which can parse DNG tags. Have a look at these topics: PDF tags, Date and Time from RAW images - they describe how to use 3-rd party command line tools inside ReNamer.

Re: More EXIF information

Just another user here that would like the ability to get various EXIF information from the photo such as the shutter release number.

Re: More EXIF information

I can add any of these extra EXIF tags:

ExposureTime=1/8
FNumber=26/10
ExposureBiasValue=0/3
MaxApertureValue=28/10
FocalLength=580/100

Are they any use? Also, please advise on the alternative name for the needed tags...
