"Import list of files" improvement

Hi Denis,

thank you for your great ReNamer!
After a few months i am back to test it again.

Now i have a question:
i want use ReNamer with TotalCommander.

If i select one single file and press an button in TC to start ReNamer this works fine.

If i select a few files in TC
i could use an TC parameter '%L'
which gives me a list of the selected files incl. the full paths.

This list is stored as a file randomly named like "CMD17C.tmp"
Contains:
D:\1\ReNamer 5.10 (12. Okt. 2007)\ReNamer\Help\Introduction.html
D:\1\ReNamer 5.10 (12. Okt. 2007)\ReNamer\Help\PascalScript.html
D:\1\ReNamer 5.10 (12. Okt. 2007)\ReNamer\Help\QuickStart.html

But i can't import this list into ReNamer
because i miss the option "*.* All Files"
from "Options > Import List"
Would you please allow to load list
from other file types (basically it's an other EXT only ) too
then *.m3u , *.pls and *.txt only?

-

And/or would you like to consider to add an command line option analog to "/enqueue"
but to parse an given text file and load all files listed there (one name incl. path per line)

I would like to start ReNamer from Total Commander
with an command like
"ReNamer /enqList %L"

This gives me a list named like "CMD17C.tmp"
(Note: Total Commander would provide ReNamer the full path to the temp list itself)

-
This feature could help others too (not only TC users)
This would also be helpful to auto load from an shortcut  other file list like
Shortcut to ReNamer:
"ReNamer /enqList C:\New\import.log"

Thanks for listening
Stefan

Re: "Import list of files" improvement

Good news, Stefan!

I've added a /list parameter, which will load a list of files from all of the following files.

For example: ReNamer.exe /list "List1.txt" "List2.tmp" "List3.tmp" ...

Also, "Import list of files" option is extended to accept any extension and to handle unicode and utf8 content.

Try if from here: ReNamerBeta.zip

Re: "Import list of files" improvement

Hi Denis,

Thank you very much for your answer and your great support!

"Import list of files" option works great now for files named like "CMD17C.tmp" too.

Also your new command line option ReNamer.exe /list "List1.txt" works great.

I will test this over the weekend with more scenarios.

---------------             ---------------             ---------------             ---------------             ---------------

If one want to use this new command line option in Total Commander then the following picture may help:

RenAmer-in-TC-small.png
The Parameter is:    / l i s t  " % L "

After creating the above button in TC
you can point one single file or select as many files you want in TC.
Then press this new button in TC and TC will generate an tmp list of the selected files
and call then ReNamer with the "/list" parameter and the generated temp list as second parameter.

----------

TC has his own Renamer which is limited in some case for more advanced renaming task.
This TC build-in Renamer you can access by pressing Ctrl+M

If you want to start ReNamer by den4b with an short cut too then do the following (for TC v7)
- Find or create an text file "UserCMD.ini" in the TC root folder
- modify this ini and add
      [em_ReNamer]
      cmd=%Commander_Path%\Plugins\ReNamer\ReNamer.exe
            <---- must be your path
      Param=/list "%L"

- save this userCMD.ini
- open WinCMD.ini
- search for [Shortcuts] section
- add 'CS+M=em_ReNamer'
- save the WinCMD.ini

Now select a few files and press Ctrl+Shift+M

---------------             ---------------             ---------------             ---------------             ---------------

Suggestion for the help file:

/list <files> Load a list of files/folders from the following list of files, e.g. ReNamer.exe /list "myNewSongs.m3u"
where "myNewSongs.m3u" is an list of files including the path, so ReNamer load all this files listed in "myNewSongs.m3u".

-

best regards
Stefan
