Hi everyone.
I would like to know what to do with the error "Unable to initialize OpenSSL library". I have installed this library already but the error message keeps popping up.

Shutter comes with everything it needs. You shouldn't need to install anything extra.
1. Which version of Shutter are you using?
2. Are you using the installer or the portable version?
3. Have you downloaded Shutter from the official product page?
4. Your Windows operating system version?
If you are having problems with the installer version, check if you get the same problem with the latest portable version.

Thank you.
I am using Shutter 4.6 downloaded from the official page in Windows Server. I was using the installer version but I tried the portable version and the error still shows.

Which specific version of Windows Server are you using?
We'll need to attempt to replicate the issue locally in order to diagnose it further.

Windows Server 2012
Can you provide more specific version information?
You can get additional information with winver and systeminfo commands.

Shutter 4.6 is running fine on a test instance of Windows Server 2012 R2 x64.
Few things to try:
1. Install the latest Visual C++ runtime.
2. Try several older versions of Shutter. It may give us more clues.
3. Check the system integrity.
4. Can you include a screenshot of the error message?

Hello,
This is my 1st post, and I registered specifically for this topic.
I have had the exact same problem as @celsoons in versions 4.6 and 4.7.
The only previous version where I can enable web interface without this error message showing is in 3.8.
I do believe this issue is related to the ssl libraries (libssl-1_1.dll and libcrypto-1_1.dll) since they are not present in 3.8.
I am running a Win 10 machine; the same issue also occurs in Win 11 - both x64. Shutter 3.8, 4.6 and 4.7 are all from portable installs.
As a recent development, I've found that by copying libeay32.dll and ssleay32.dll from version 4.1 into the 4.7 directory, the app starts without errors and web interface loads properly.
Hope this helps.
