Re: Using rules AND Import new names from a CSV file

Dear den4b,

Thanks for the steps above, they are really helpful and I'm grateful for your commitment to help

mini_Renamer-1.png

For Step 2,

I have prepared a .csv in two columns.

02518-6.pdf,ANIMA HOLDING S.A..pdf

1) Im assuming the comma after pdf should be in the first column?
    column A: 02518-6.pdf,
    column B:ANIMA HOLDING S.A..pdf

2) I have placed the .csv file with my now converted invoices (see screenshot).

Is there a step missing where I have to point to the pdfs that needed to be renamed or ReNamer Lite will automatically know they are in there?

When I run it as it is, I get cannot create empty directory. Press okay to ignore and risk data corruption. Press abort to kill the program.

Thanks so much. I am using Version 7.3

Re: Using rules AND Import new names from a CSV file

You have two issues there.

Firstly, you must use at least ReNamer 7.3.0.3 Beta in order to handle relative paths in the CSV file. Version 7.3 does not handle relative paths in CSV files, that is why you get an error.

Secondly, you have question marks ("?") in new names, which points to a file encoding issue. You need to save your CSV file with UTF8 encoding, if you plan on using non-latin characters.

You can enable the "Folder" or "Path" column in ReNamer, so that you can check the source path of imported files.
