I would like to replace non-ASCII characters with the closest resemblance in ASCII. That's because, for example, curly quotes are not acceptable in CD Text. But I'd also like to replace any accented characters to the ASCII equivalent. I'm sure that foreign languages may be too much of a challenge as there may not be obvious equivalents, but can we do as much of this as possible?
If it's possible, could someone please give me an exact set of instructions to accomplish that? Thanks!
Potentially relevant thread: Add "Non-English characters" option the Strip Rule.

ReNamer 7.2 has a new option in the Clean Up rule which should help you:
> Strip unicode marks (combining, diacritics, accents).
Other more complex or custom remapping can be added as a Replace or Translit rule.
