EXIF_Date output format

Adding EXIF_Date to filename also adds 3 pairs of numbers at the end.

What are those numbers and can this be avoided?

You know, I think those are hours/minutes/seconds - the time!

You can change the date/time format in the Settings » Meta Tags.
