Hi to all.
Often when renaming (mostly cleaning up) a small amount of files I prefer to do this manually by editing the file names in an external editor (eg Notepad++). This allows me to use all advanced editing features the editor offers. Eg Notepad++ has column editing, is scriptable (for which I have written some scripts) and much more).
ReNamer assists this by offering to copy file names to the systems clipboard and reimporting the altered names from the clipboard. However for this to work I need to open an external editor somehow.
For achieving a better workflow it would be helpful if ReNamer would offer to start an external editor (or more general to open/start external programs) from within ReNamer, eg. by choosing something like "Start external program" from one of the programs menues.
Ideally one could set via the program settings/options a path/pathes to external program(s). Aditionally it should be possible to set some commandline parameters for those external programs too.
Anyhow, I just recently got notice from ReNamer. Until then I used my selfwritten program for renaming (which among other things was scriptable too). But now I will switch to ReNamer which is even more capable than my old program.
Sincerely yours
Ulrich
