SHA1 problem with large files

Very nice soft, but....
result for SHA1 (Hash from http://keir.net/hash.html , digsum from http://www.di-mgt.com.au/crypto.html ) is different!
I check file nw65ossp6.iso from Novell

Re: SHA1 problem with large files

No, it calculates correct MD5/SHA1!

I just checked it for several files (from 1Mb to 700Mb), against your Hash.

By the way, there is an MD5 on Novell site, not SHA1!

Try latest dev version: HasherBeta.zip

Where is that file?

Edited: Can you reproduce this for any other files?

Re: SHA1 problem with large files

I download  (as registered user) nw65ossp6.iso from:

http://download.novell.com/Download?bui … NVuIOvwiw~

For other checked files results are the same

Re: SHA1 problem with large files

Well, I can't download it, I don't have Novell Account.

Can you somehow share/upload that file? And when you said "For other checked files results are the same" - you meant that you get different hashes for every file that you try? I yes, can you send me the smallest one? I can't reproduce your problem, I've tried with almost 100 different files already...

What Windows version are you using? Also, can you try on other PC?

Re: SHA1 problem with large files

Share/upload that big file... it is problem

Using Hasher, Hash and Digsum, for other checked files, I get the same hashes (MD5, SHA1)
Only for Novell's interesting file nw65ossp6.iso SHA1 is different (using Hasher)

Windows XP Prof SP2. On other PC's problem is the same

sorry for my english wink

Re: SHA1 problem with large files

Can I use your login information to download that file?

I will use it only to download the file and will remove straight away...

Re: SHA1 problem with large files

Good news! smile

This problem should now be fixed. I've incorporated new hashing libraries (Delphi Fundamentals v3.28) into the Hasher. Tried hashing that problematic "nw65prodsp6.iso" and also "nw65ossp6.iso" and got exactly the same hashes as did that Hash tool!

Latest development version is updated: HasherBeta.zip
