You are right guys, it is unfortunate, but it is a necessity. By concept, license is most always bound to a specific computer or a user. If license would be made portable it would defeat the purpose and allow people to simply copy the application folder and share it with the world.
If it's any cancellation, you can activate your Pro license on your home/main computer and get all unlocked features in your portable copy when running on the same computer. And you can still use the same presets on other computers too.

Hi Denis,
It's funny to see this thread because over the past few years every time I've used ReNamer I've always said aloud Thank You - it is so very handy from time to time.
Yesterday a friend was renaming a bunch of images manually and I mentioned ReNamer immediately. She went and found it, installed and as I was looking over her shoulder pointing out ways she might go about her task I saw it was much improved over the build I'd been using (ReNamer 5.50 (3 May 2009)). So I came to buy a license to support your work and to say thank you in writing
Kind regards,
Kelly

Long time no see. I even missed the introduction of Lite and Pro... I'm very glad the project grows-up.
ReNamer is the best renaming tool I've ever used. Since I found it I never ever thought about anything else. That's my personal number one.
Shutter is so handy when you want your comp to work overnight...
Hasher is always at hand checking for identity.
I love your tools, Denis.
It was a pleasure to help.
THANK YOU!
Regular Expressions are not as hard to understand as you may think. Check ReNamer's manual or nice Regular Expressions tutorial for more info and start to use full power of applications that use them (like ReNamer, Mp3Tag and so on).

@krtek
Good to have you back my friend!
Let you me know if you would like to claim your free license to any of the products.

From all of them I love ReNamer most and I guess that would be my choice :-)
