Switching to a new server

I'm going to be migrating this site to a new server in the following 3-5 days.

There may be disruptions and prolong out of service times. Just before the switch over, forum and wiki will be either frozen to prevent modification or disabled completely. DNS records for the domain will be updated and propagation of the new records might take up to 24 hours, meaning that during that period of time you might still be trying to access the old server.

I will post here once the switch over is complete and if you'll be reading that post it will mean that you are using the new server!  smile

Re: Switching to a new server

If you are seeing this post, then you are using the new server! smile

The site is no longer hosted on the shared server, instead, it is now hosted on our very own virtual server. This should result in a more reliable service because the server is not shared between 100's of customers and it is not managed by a company that doesn't give a toss about what customer needs. The transition went smoothly, without any problems so far. Please let me know if you notice any problems.

Re: Switching to a new server

I agree, all seem fine now. Links etc. Wait...there is more time to submit post than usual. I received message from Opera (Network problem
Check that the address is spelled correctly, or try searching for the site.)

that server doesn't respond when hit preview button. Maybe it should take some time to things settle down? Do you experience this issue?

Preview and post work instantly for me. Maybe this is a problem on your end?

Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Re: Switching to a new server

I tested it right now and works instantly. When I experienced problem I checked other sites and they loaded without any problems so I think that problem was here. Anyway now it's OK and that is the most important.
